The Azalea Kurume 'Hino Crimson', Rhododendron Kurume X 'Hino-Crimson', is one of the hardiest and most profuse bloomers of the semi-dwarf evergreen Azaleas.
'Hino Crimson' is a moderate grower, forming a dense mound with small leaves and an abundance of dark red, non-fading blooms. Deep glossy green leaves turn bronze in the winter. This dense, upright, evergreen shrub has small, 1 1/4 inch long, elliptic, glossy, olive green leaves.
The Kurume are prized for showy clusters of small, profuse early to mid-spring flowers, 1 to 3 per truss, which literally cover the plant. Prune immediately after flowering so you won't cut off any of next year's flower buds. Plant as you would any of the other Azaleas: high and in well-drained, acidic soil, rich with organic matter; best adapted to partial sun.
'Hino Crimson' Kurume Azalea will become one of your all-time favorites, and will indisputably be the centerpiece in your yard for years to come. Order one today!
